Who am I?
Hey, I am a software developer from India who loves to solve his problems by building his own tools.
Why i built Residy?
A small flashback, I bought an apartment a few years back. It is a stand alone apartment, which does not have a gated community. It consisted of just 8 flats.
Even though it is just eight house owners, it was a struggle to keep track of collecting maintenance fees and taking care of the expenses for water, plumbing and electricity. Some days we miss out on who paid and who did not due to busy personal life.
And then I looked for a solution outside, found few, but all of them were made for gated communities and very costly. So, I got an itch to solve it with my own software development experience.
So I made a web-app to keep track of maintenance fees, expense manager and members directory with contact details. Rolled it out to my apartment members for a year, it served the purpose and was very helpful in keeping track of overdue from other members.
To whom is it made for?
- People living in stand-alone apartments which is having very less units in the range of 3 - 30.
- Those who cannot afford 2%-3% of transaction charges deducted by payment gateways for small amount transactions.
- Person who is taking care of accounting work of apartment/association expenses.
